We will be studying these topics in our curriculum during the month of November.
Biology: Learning about the characteristics of fish
Geography: Beginning the study of landforms with lake, island, gulf and peninsula. Native Americans of the different regions of the country
Math: calendar math
-we count each school day with paper clips, stickers, and a linear tape
-we graph the weather daily
-we discuss yesterday, today and tomorrow
-we practice patterning as we add a colored shape to our calendar each day
-we learn the days of the week and months of the year
-we also move the minute hand on a clock 30 minutes for each day to practice telling time by the hour and half hour
Other math activities are specialized depending on individual needs.
Language: We are talking about the sounds of letters each day. We have covered s, m, t, p, f, c and r.
We will complete our author study of Eric Carle in the next week. Our next form of writing will be report writing.
